Lovely art! It's a little deceiving with the whole 50 artists thing, as there are are only 12 poster sized pieces and then 50 little thumbnails at the back, but I thought that would probably be the case since it is a calendar after all.

This is more of a poster book than a calendar, so purchase it with that in mind. The artwork is really beautiful, lots of variety in the illustrations, the look great on my wall!

I'd give this 5 stars for the artwork but the calendar (you know, the actual functional part of the item?) left a lot to be desired. It was very small and linear instead of the typical Sunday - Saturday grid layout. Overall I'm satisfied but I wasn't expecting to have to buy another calendar to use with my calendar.

The art on this is lovely, but it is a terrible calendar. All the days are show in a single line at the bottom, so you have to squint to see them, let alone what day of the week each is; there's nowhere to mark down holidays or other date-related notes. So if you want some very nice Trek-related posters, go for it, but if you're looking for a functional calendar, steer clear. I'll be back to my standard calendar next year.

It's a bit late in 2017, but wanted to share I love this poster, it's just that the prints curl a bit rather than hang flat and flush to the wall.

I got this calendar for my husband for his birthday. After the year is over I plan on framing the detachable prints to hang in our office/"nerd cave." Note: if you're looking for a calendar with space to write on, this is not it. More of a reference for dates.

I love it! It's beautiful!Not really great as a useful calendar as there are just numbers for the days and no squares to write in. But That's Not The Point! The point is that it is gorgeous and full of interesting and original Star Trek art.

I am in love with this calendar and if you're a trek fan, I think you will too! The pages are thick and easily converted into prints after the month is through!

As she looks back at her partner she see's him pull his toggle in the wrong direction, which sends him into the bowels of the fire, where he is killed.The following summer, as the wildfire season begins, there is trouble between the female partner of the jumper that was killed and his dating fling, and her baby.There are several incidents where the smoke jumpers are placed in dangerous situations in and around the base camp. And then a fire is reported in a forest close to base and a murder has occurred.The story continues until the equipment used for fighting fires is tampered with and they are put in danger in a fire.The smoke jumpers continue fighting wildfires with a twist on the final fire.This author again demonstrates her ability to learn the correct language and procedures for fighting wildfires and she completes a love story between firefighting incidents and keeps the readers attention on the characters as they go through this different summer. She also interposesa secondary love story and connects the events so that the reader is rewarded with an exciting story line and is able to follow through the entire book without loosing their place and to remain enthralled with the story line.

Such a refreshing and entertaining reading:1. I've never read a book about smoke jumpers, so I loved getting immersed in their foreign-to-me world.2. The main romance between Rowan & Gull was an absolute delight to read thanks to the lack of clichés. Every now and then I have enjoyed them in romance books, but a couple who communicates their feelings and thoughts will always be a winner for me. No need to use third parties or innecessary denials to stop them from getting their HEA.3. The romance subplot didn't bore me, and it usually does when it's not about the main couple.What stops this from being a perfect reading:The long descriptions about the missions got tiresome. I get being told once or twice about them, but there were many missions, so to read the technical talk over and over and over again was exhausting. (Although thankfully not as much as the one in the Inn BoonsBoro trilogy.)***OVERALLChasing Fire is another Nora Roberts winner. Too bad it isn't part of a series, would've loved to see every one of them getting a HEA like Rowan and Gull.

3.5'Key of Valour' takes us to the last quest to find the third key. It's Zoe's turn and she's gonna have to find the courage to trust her heart and go for what she wants.I had an absolutely wonderful time getting to see Zoe and Brad falling in love even though Zoe did annoy me in the last chapters because she didn't want to accept what she felt (and what Brad felt for her). I felt it took her so long to accept her feelings and it frustrated me. But I loved Brad because he had a lot of patience with her.And speaking about Brad, he was a sweetheart! My favorite parts of this book definitely include his scenes with Simon. It was a pleasure getting to see man and boy loving each other. The only issue I had with one of the scenes is that a couple of dialogues were a copy of one of Nora Robert's books: Sea Swept. It is my favorite book from her. I've read it plenty of times so as soon as I saw the dialogues I knew where it came from. It bothered me and I wish it could've been said different.But keeping that aside, I liked there were barely sexist comments. And I liked seeing more of Flynn, Malory, Dana and Jordan, too.The climax with Kane wasn't as interesting as book 2. I was definitely expecting something bigger. But in the end, I'm just glad the villain was vanquished and Rowena and Pitte got to finally have their HEA. I even cried with that part and it was my favorite moment from the whole book.*OVERALL:The last book in the Key trilogy was an interesting and great conclusion.The series as a whole was a pleasure to read because it has the essence of Nora's oldest series. Sure, I've enjoyed her new ones but there is nothing like her old and classy. There's something about the writing and characters that stand out from the more recent ones.If you're looking for a series about love, friendship, family (and you don't mind a couple of sexist comments here and there) this is the series for you.

While I use the current 2013 CBC, ASCE 7-10, etc., this old code is still handy to have around. For example, the wind load for lateral design can be read from a table in the old code in a few seconds, while the new procedure requires studying various tables and doing about a page of calculations. There's not much difference in the final design loads, so the old code is useful for quick preliminary design. In the new code, steel and concrete chapters just refer to other publications, but the old code has everything, much of it unchanged. The new code has span tables for wood joists, but I use the 1997; the values haven't changed, as far as I can tell, and it's smaller and way handier. A few things have improved since then, like USGS seismic mapping and design methods for perforated wood shear walls, but it's still a great book to have around if you do structural.I bought it used here a few months ago, when my old copy got worn out. It was very cheap, but it looks new.

A must have for those aspiring building inspectors or building contractors! Saves much greif and puts the answers at you fingertips.

I hesitated about buying this book because it is written by a young man from the UK who lives in a van all around Europe, whereas I am a late-fifties woman planning on doing my van dwelling in the US. I found this book to be applicable no matter your age or location. So many of these self-published books are poorly written, but not this one. I felt that the author was sitting in my home speaking directly to me. I am definitely going to purchase his other book.

Mike's writing style makes it easy to imagine taking the next step toward any goal you have. I've read both his books even though my goal isn't to live in a van, ...but it does involve ditching the traditional way of living for something which suits me better. His practical philosophy and implementable tips and strategies lend themselves to other goals well.I hope my kids each read his book and follow his blog. They will understand me even better, and will be further encouraged to follow their own path.

Even though I am in the U.S. not the U.K. this book had several links to sites that would be helpful for van life in the states. It was an entertaining and helpful read. Any book that encourages people to go after their dreams and gives useful tips is a good read for me.

As a 66 year old female, I’ve had my van for about 8 months. A low roof 2017 ford transit extra long body. It took me a while to insulate and panel the inside and it doesn’t look all that great but it’s got me out of my rut. I have solar, a bed and a portapotty. What else could one want. I’ve already crossed the USA once with snow storms behind me all the way and can’t wait to do it again. Thanks for the extra encouragement

Not how to set up your van, but some good stuff about living in it and traveling around the world. Matt is funny and has a lot of insight into why live in a van, how to quit your job and how to make money on the road (kind of sketchy details, but you have to follow your own path).

it's a nice read. there are no problems driving free? this book paints a beautiful picture of living the van live. what about the bad? I want a book to tell me both sides. not blow smoke up my butt.

Good read that covers a lot of basics along with more advanced topics. Well written and keeps interest up. A bit of travel stories sprinkled in gives good entertainment too!

I listen to a lot of audio books. I started this self kick on trying to better myself this past year. This book along with his 17 Essential Qualities of a Team Player help me to get a promotion and changed my viewpoint on my whole work life. I highly recommend it and have even recommended it to my coworkers and even my boss has read it.

When I first started this book I had recently finished The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership, also by Maxwell. I thoroughly enjoyed The 21. When I started The 17 I immediately thought that this book was just a regurgitation of The 21 and that Maxwell was going to milk the series for all its worth.In looking back I still find the first few sections light and common sense. But I hung in there and I'm glad I did. There are section later that challenged my thinking and the way I lead my team.I'm personally not a fan of all the sports references and all the talking about his own organization that Maxwell does, but points are well made. Not all the how-tos and details of team is given, but most sections are great springboards or foundations to get you moving in the right direction.For example, now I feel like I know where I need to go for more resources, what questions to ask, what first steps to take to enrich my team. No, this book isn't the end-all and be-all of everything team, but it can provide a new environment in your mind for how you approach teams.So, I was enriched by this book and have recommended it to friends already. I will also reference it in the future and the notes and highlights that I wrote in it.

I always enjoy reading books by John C. Maxwell. This book was not a disappointment at all. I was asked to do a team building seminar for a church leadership weekend and found the principles within "The 17 Indisputable Laws of Teamwork..." extremely insightful and beneficial. Everyone left with renewed strength and a determination to fork more faithfully with one another and their pastor.I highly recommend this book for leaders everywhere, but since my context is church, it is definitely a must read for pastors and ministry leaders to share and discuss with their teams.

Hawkins brings up some points of Neuro-linguistic programming, which to me are the biggest reason for the continued support of a "bad barrel". By controlling a person's language, you control their reality. Co$ is adept at this practice, which causes the motto "revenitas/revenimus" to be literally true in some cases. If you are in, READ THIS BOOK AND GET OUT. if you are interested in joining Co$, READ THIS BOOK INSTEAD (then read all the others from ex-clams; {oh no! a semi-colon!} They are all good - for a given value of good. Usually they are heart-rending accounts of personal loss, heartache, confusion and betrayal. They are "good" reads, meaning they are highly engrossing and even exciting, but not typically leave one at a high tone level. "Anger" for instance is considered "low toned". )I am not now, nor was I ever part of the Co$, or a user/supporter of it's technology. I have my own opinions about the sci fi pulp writer whose infantile understanding of buddhism, thelema, the mind, and his own psychosis led him to create the farce of $cn.By the by, most books on/about/relating to $cn typically contain a definition of $cn along with it's etymology, which is almost always incorrect. I don't care what the intent of "$ource" was when he re-appropriated the term, but I can tell you that Scio is Latin for "I know" (from Scire- to know) and Logos is Greek for "Word" or "speech". Possibly an early in-joke describing the NLP/reality tunnel aspect of $cn meaning: "know the words...."Well, if you know them, FORGET THEM. Let your new motto become "Nunqualm Iterum"

A tiny gleam of light is breaking through the dark clouds and tells me there is sunshine somewhere, there is love and freedom, there is hope. Troubled clouds and high winds are not all there is to life.Anyone who has been there knows what I mean, and you probably already pressed the Buy Now button. For those who have not, or who wonder what value there can be in the words of an apostate etc. etc. I suggest reading this book. While it pulls no punches it also does not engage in name calling or sensationalism. It is practical and provides guidance. There is a calm moving spiritual sense of exploration here, not a dogmatic polemic. That is just what we need.If you are not a Scientologist or former this book is really not for you, Counterfeit Dreams: One Man's Journey Into and Out of the World of Scientology is the reference for outsiders. But there is an excellent chapter for friends and relatives of Scientologists that is really required reading for all concerned.The official Church of Scientology will denounce this book and so will the rabid anti-Scientologists. So be it. Seekers of truth and ordinary people who need real insight and practical tips to reconstruct their lives after Scientology will rejoice. A few will leave it with tears in their eyes and a prayer, as do I.Thanks, Jeff.

I enjoy reading the experiences and viewpoints of others. This is something I was not allowed to do as a cult member. Cutting one off from other terminals and viewpoints is the goal of any cult.

I read this book in less than two days, so tangled up in the story that I had to find out what happens to Mary, the girl in the group home serving time for a murder of a baby - allegedly. Jackson is a master at manipulating the reader's feelings, turning everything topsy-turvy on you when you least expect it. She rips you through all the feels, all the exclamations and leaves you shattered at the end of it all. When I reached the end, it was a huge WOW moment for me. And I'm still thinking that, WOW. This is a book that I'll be thinking about for a long time to come. Tiffany Jackson has a long career ahead of her and I can't wait to read her next book!

The books I enjoy most are the ones where I feel like I'm experiencing a new world or reality, and I felt immersed in Mary's. This book is raw, honest, realistic, and gut-wrenching, not to mention a page turner. The conversational feel of it, along with the twists and turns, meant I read this book in record time. I had to get to the ending. I'm still thinking about that ending.

Couldn't put this book down! It's twisty, shocking, dark, and fabulous. And thrilling. Highly recommend! I read Tiffany's book in two days, feeling the whole time like I couldn't walk away. The narrator is so complex. She's smart as hell, strong in so many ways, and yet completely mysterious. The book is finished, but I simply can't stop thinking about this girl. She surprises you and keeps you guessing right up to the last page.

I started reading Allegedly by Tiffany D Jackson on a whim. I was looking for a book to read in between books and was drawn to the title. When I read the premise, I knew I had to read a bit more. It became one of those books I tore through, felt it was a bit longer than needed to be, and then disliked the ending so much it almost ruined the rest of the book.Mary Addison murdered a baby when she was 9 years old, allegedly. She has moved from "baby prison" (solitary confinement) to juvie to a halfway house where she is allowed to leave under supervision. Her fellow prisoners torture her regularly, from simply throwing her stuff on the floor to much worse things later in the book. Mary has been in the prison system so long, she is numb to most of it.The worst part is everyone knows her story. Her story has been written about in a ton of books and it looks like it will be made into a movie. In a place where people assume, knowing your crime is a different story.Mary gets visited by her mother regularly on Sunday, where her mother stays for about 15 minutes to talk about her new life. Mary also works at an elderly home, where she has met Ted, an 18 year old who has gotten 16 year old Mary pregnant. Mary has also gotten a new roommate who is working through the justice system with an independent group who helps those who have received injustice get justice. The connection to that is Mary has started to remember things about that night when she allegedly murdered a baby that don't seem to add up.I'll begin my review portion by stating, this is not a light book to read. For those who have triggers, there is abuse, statutory rape, torturous conditions, and of course the murder of an infant which gets described in great detail several times. The funny thing is this is marketed as a book for teens. My guess is because the protagonist is a teen, but this is NOT a teen book, maybe a young adult, but definitely not for early teens.I am also going to go a tiny bit negative. There were three things that bothered me about this book. The first was the length. At about 400 pages, it becomes a bit too long. The second was the Ted story, as it was a bit clichéd. As soon as Ted is introduced, you know he is going to get her pregnant and you know he is going to be something else (I won't spoil, but you learn pretty quickly what that something else is). Finally, the ending. I have talked to a few people online who also disliked the ending. You journey through 390 pages or so and the last few pages simply ruin the book. I am not going to spoil, but just be prepared.Now for the positives, as there were more than negatives. Mary's story about that night unfolds wonderfully. You get glimpses here and there, but you don't get the whole story until you need to. Her relationship with her mother is well described and thought out. It would be a tense relationship between them. It is also an incredible look at the injustice found within the justice system. How can someone prove her innocence when the whole world knows her story? She was 9 when the crime happened, it is now 7 years later and she has no hope of getting justice.Overall, I sort of enjoyed this one. It was a good story, but it is brutal in places, so how could one enjoy brutality? I gave this one 3.5 stars.

Pro's: well written, absorbing, realistic dialogue, explored relationships, fast-paced, and memorable.Cons: a little lengthy, a few stereotypes, and I didn't like the ending.This story had me hooked from beginning to end. The story delves into the complexity of why a nine-year-old would murder a baby (Allegedly). Is she a psychopath? Is her mother the real murderer?The author tells us to the result of the horrible murder but leaves out enough details to where we look for insights into the truth of the crime in page after page. Was Mary responsible or her mother or both?The story begins after Mary spends six years in 'baby jail' and is out on parole in a group home filled with angry, depressed teenage girls who have their own complex problems. It's an unsafe place with poorly trained staff. Throughout the entire novel, the staff is portrayed as uncaring, inept, or both which seemed stereotypical.The author 'gets' the dialogue and attitude of the girls, the psychological relationship between a dysfunctional mother and daughter, and the systematic 'processing' of children/teens in the criminal justice system of New York. The victim's parents life is explored (after the crime) and I was glad to see this mentioned in the novel.After Mary meets eighteen-year-old Ted-a young man with problems and obstacles of his own, they begin a romantic relationship with all the fantasy of what could be if it wasn't for the woundedness they both bring.In spite of tremendous obstacles, Mary is intelligent and pursues her SAT so she can get into college. When she becomes pregnant she realizes the state will take her baby and devises a plan to get out of the group home. This prompts Mary, to tell the truth of the crime. But is it the truth?
