For the most part, I have not been a big fan of Barron's . I've used them in the past for mathematics, chem, and SAT study, and it was no good for anything, so i ended up tossing them in the trash and going with better books.For some reason, these guys got the PTCE (PTCB) test down pat. not sure what they did differently, except they seem to be more thorough and careful about what is needed, and what is not needed for the pharmacy tech.

I credit this book as being the single best thing I did in preparation for the PTCB! If you study this book and know it ...... and familiarize yourself with a few areas NOT in this book, those being the Clark Rule, Young's Rule, and Flow Rate math (as in an IV - for example, how many drops per minute in a given amount of time)...... you will be VERY prepared for the PTCB! I passed the PTCB on the first try! Good luck!! :)

Helped me pass my exam! I am very happy that I ordered this book to help me study, it is the only one I bought and it was worth it. It includes a pretest and two in-book practice tests to help you gauge where you're at and what you need to work on, along with an online practice test and little quizzes at the end of each chapter to make sure you learned the important things. This was well worth the money!

I would definitely recommend this book along with the PTCB pocket prep app. This book has all the needed information minus a few things without excess information. I studied this book for 3 weeks, took notes and highlighted. I passed my test on 5/25/2018.

I am a retired Pharmacist and have decided to go back to work after 4 years away from Pharmacy. I am in a different state and decided it was easier to become a pharmacy technician. This book was all I needed to review for and pass the PTCE! Very comprehensive and well organized with good sample tests including one online. I highly recommend this guide.

Didn't have any pharmacy background, so I originally thought to study for the PTCE exam over the summer, but stupidly procrastinated till the day before my exam. I crammed for 7 hours using only this book, and managed to pass the exam with a 1457. The practice exams in this book are exactly on point. Excellent coverage of all the domains. This book was clearly written by someone who knows exactly what they're doing. I wholeheartedly endorse this book.Just some advice for anyone studying - don't worry so much about memorizing all the top 200 drugs. I can't disclose any information about the test, but my recommendation is to learn the other clerical and safety information down to the tee. That helped me pass way more than spending my time memorizing the drugs, probably by a ratio of 15:1.I've used Barron's before for AP exam stuff, but this book definitely takes the cake for being concise, yet incredibly thorough. It's a must buy for any autodidacts out there.

Not as indepth as the PTCE is. Actual text books would work better unless you are a seasoned technician brushing up for the exam.

This is an excellent study guide for the PTCE!! Especially when reviewing for Pharmacology and Pharmacy Law. I highly recommend making flashcards when reading through this book. The practice exams are extremely helpful as well. This book helped me pass the exam on my first try!! 🤗

The book was organized well and well written. I passed the PTCB with a 1528 but I don’t credit this book. The practice tests in this book are nothing like the exam and most of the questions on the exam I did not see the corresponding material in this book. I would suggest buying the $29 PTCB official practice test and studying the material asked in the test. The questions and concepts were similar to the practice exam and reworded on the actual exam. I also recommend PTCB Pocket Prep for a math review but the questions in pocket prep are a lot more difficult than what is on the actual exam. I wouldn’t recommend this book for the PTCB.

I first read the Tao Te Ching in college. Somewhere along the line I lost that copy so I decided to pick up this one (especially since it had such high reviews). This copy seemed much different than the one I read years back. And I am not just talking about the author's choice to use female pronouns as well as male pronouns in his version (incidentally - how close can one get to awareness of Tao if one allows oneself to get hung up on seeing "He" rather than "She" in the teachings?).In one portion of this "tao de ching: A New English Version" ("Version" is the key word) the author chooses to translate "When the Tao is absent in a country,/ war horses are bred on the borders" to "When a country goes counter to the Tao, Warheads are stockpiled outside the cities". This author has written his "modernized" version of the Tao Te Ching and he claims to have been open in this fact, supposedly by him using the terms "A New English Version". When one reads further one in the notes you see the author admitting he does not even know Chinese (so his interpretation of the Tao is from other translations - and how he thinks the lines should read for poetics sake, or P.C. sake, etc).At first I thought I would not write a review on this book. But when seeing the author admit to what I had suspected it made me feel like I really got ripped off. If you are looking for a translation of the Tao Te Ching do not get this author's book. The author respects the Tao but this is not the real deal. I will be purposefully losing this book and looking for a better translation.

I turned it over in my hands and it was clearly very short in length, so I decided to just read a few pages while I finished my morning coffee.One and a half hours later I had finished the book entirely, along with my coffee, and I immediately knew upon completion that I would read this book many, many more times in my life.It was a highly profound, dare I say life changing read that dramatically impacted my perspective towards my own happiness and how I interact with others. Written as a collection of very short, almost poem-like chapters, often each occupying less than a single page, this book is a masterfully crafted guide to find real happiness and fulfillment in your life. It is a tome that empowers you, humbles you, and leads you around the pitfalls that so many humans fall into throughout their lives.It is not a modern self help book with life-hacks, habit forming tips, or other such articulations, but rather a fundamental, deep, and moving look at what makes up a fulfilling life.If you are someone who has discovered mindfulness, explores meditation, or ponders philosophy, then this book is, without question, a must-read.And if you are more of a go-getter. Get this book, make some tea, turn of the incessant rattlings in your brain and the screens in your home and relax to ancient wisdom that has influenced millions of hearts and minds for thousands of years...

This book is very confusing to read because of the way its been printed. There's no uniformity; Instead of having one verse per page and then a commentary section, there's several verses on one page with different types and sizes of font throughout so visually it looks very cluttered and crammed together and it's not enjoyable to read. It looks like a cheap, self-publishing project gone wrong. It's such an important text, it's disappointing that they didn't take more care to make it more readable.

This is a good book preceded by an excellent foreward. In fact it's not a foreword in the typical sense. Yes, the importance and purpose of the book is explained, but the foreward goes far beyond expectations by providing detailed examples, photographic illustrations, and practical explanations of the meaning of significant principles covered by the book. The book, having originally been publshed in the 1920s, is somewhat dated in style and doesn't contain the sort of useful photographic or illustrated examples exhibited in the foreward. I would definitely buy the book again, but I'd rather buy a new edition written/edited by Richard Sammons that expands his approach in the foreward to the text of the book itself.

This is for the classical architecture wonk or practitioner who wants to, for once and for all, understand the theory of mouldings. Not for the homeowner or the casual architect or builder.But, these things are very important in speaking the language of classical architecture or classically inspired or influenced architecture, and Walker is a voice from another time when these things were taken very seriously.So grab an espresso, put classical music in your headphones and dig in!

If your looking for a comprehensive set of scaled drawings of various Greek and Roman entablatures this is not your book. But for informative background on the derivation and development of classical mouldings, from the original timber buildings to later stone structures, it certainly is. I know there are some classical architecture historians who do not believe in the origins of classical mouldings in timber prototypes - but don't let that worry you.

This is a great book that explains about the theory of mouldings, how they came about, and how they can be used effectively as an aesthetic and structural device. I have not found many like this and It has helped develop my judgment of mouldings significantly.

I don’t know why Donald Trump would want one, but maybe. I’m interested in how it can be used to help my work. I’ve read through it twice now, highlighting the second time through and have found some very practical advice on where to use convex verses concave moldings, not to repeat the same shapes in a particular molding, scale, shadow creation based on light sources anticipated, use of spiral rather than circular curves in molding designs, and a few other design elements. It’s bone dry! All of the illustrations in the text are hand drafted of single lines, and it’s difficult even to identify which side of the profile being illustrated is the exposed side in some of them – obviously excluding the convex/concave ones. My normal approach is to summarize complicated texts, so that’s what I’m doing for this one. All I can say is that I’m working at understanding it, and its message, if there is one much beyond the above few design elements, is elusive. This isn’t for designing decorative moldings like those shown on the cover photo – try "Carving Architectural Detail in Wood: The Classical Tradition" by Frederick Wilbur for that guidance. I’ve gained from it though, and I want to encourage others to do the same. Five stars.

This book is really interesting. I needed it for the study of Classical mouldings, so the way that the book was written (divided into different historical and cultural categories) was very helpful. Lots of great historical context and etymology as well.
