 The Scriptures used in the 30 designs in this book are based on the New International Version (NIV). The designs focus on the Bible verse and the design around it is not necessarily applicable to the verse. Verses are taken from both the Old and New Testament. The words are very artistically set within the page and use various fonts to give each design its own special look. The design elements all look like they will be fun to color without too many intricate and small areas that might prove too challenging. There are many flowers, hearts, even a lion, as well as many other elements.I am really pleased with the verses which were chosen for this book. Amongst them are some of my favorites albeit in a different translation than the one I used for my memory work as a child. Regardless of the translation, they still speak to my spirit and coloring them will be a time of mediation on the words as well as a time of resting of my mind from the day's problems. I find that the title is apt as I found myself feeling inspired and renewed after reading through the book.The designs are printed on one side of the page only. The pages are not perforated but do include a cutting line for your use if you choose to remove a page from the book. The designs all stop at the cutting line, so you will not lose any part of the design if you do cut it out. The binding seems to be both sewn and glued in. The stitching seems to be from front to back instead of through several pages but I also see evidence of glue, too.I was able to bend the binding enough to get the book to lay flat, so I will probably not be removing the pages from the book. I like having them all together but with a little work you can remove the page if you want to frame the finished design – I do suggest doing so before you color it so you will not take a chance on tearing or damaging your finished picture.I had mixed results when it came to coloring with markers in this book. The only ones that consistently did not leak through were my Staedler triplus fineliners. My Tombows dual brush did not leak when I used the brush end but did with the marker end. All other markers – both water and alcohol-based leaked through. My gel pens did not leak through but needed extra drying time. My various coloring pencils all worked well. Whatever coloring tools you decide to use, you can put a heavyweight page below the page you are working on to keep ink from leaking through to the next design.

I just received this book yesterday and haven't colored yet, but this book is just what I was looking to find. The paper is very nice and the artwork is varied. I can hardly wait to get started and I am sure I will have many hours of pleasure coloring. I think this is a very good price for a book of this quality. This book would make a great gift for a Christian coloring friend.

I like this okay- the design fully covers the page so there's lots to color, they are one design per page which is good, too. My markers; gel pens and Stabilio do bleed through a bit. Colored pencils work nicely though. I would like more variety in the placement of the Scripture verse -but I'm coloring, praying and memorizing Scripture at the same time and that's what I was looking for. It helps to clear the clutter from my head. Hopefully, there will be anothe rbook in the future

Each page is one sided and is perforated so you can easily remove it. Out of all of the Bible verse coloring books, this one in my opinion, has the best options for verses and designs. If you are trying to decide, I can save you time by telling you to just go with this book. I also got this for a few people for Christmas gifts for various ages from teen to adult and they were all received very well.

My mom enjoys Christian inspired coloring books. The first one I gave her had spiral binding at the top so she always had a flat page to work on. This one is bound like our old children's coloring books. It never lies flat so she struggles a bit with it. The pages are nice but I won't buy her another one without spiral binding.

Beautiful coloring book with inspiration throughout. Coloring has been shown to reduce stress and this book is no exception. Uplifting phrases. Thick enough pages that will uphold most of your modes to color with. I would definitely purchase this again for myself or a friend in need.

I like the verses, and the prints/designs on the paper. I wish the paper was a bit thicker so my markers would not run through. I did expect that to be an issue, so I am not disappointed or surprised by the product. I do like how they make it easy to remove the pages from the book for easier coloring. Great item and would make a fantastic gift!!

Finally a different adult coloring book! I love the scriptures! I was not impressed with the repeating patterns in the other adult coloring books.

Cute book, good introduction the the basic bible stories. The stories included are: the garden of Eden, Noah's ark, Moses parting the Red Sea, David and Goliath, Jonah and the fish (it only says fish, not whale- huh), the birth of Jesus, the lame man who was lowered thru the roof to Jesus, the miracle of the loaves and the fish, the good Sheperd (Luke 15), the disciples and the storm quieted by Jesus (Mark 4), the parable of the builders (Matthew 7), Jesus walks on water, the resurrection, and Jesus fills the nets with fish (Matthew 28). I appreciate that each little story includes the original scripture reference, so you know where to read the entire story in the Bible. There are lots of flaps to open- not all are relevant to the story, but some are, like giant Goliath falling down! Overall, a satisfying purchase and a good way to start introducing Bible stories to my toddler.

This was a perfect little Bible to begin teaching my 2 year old with. The flaps were a continuation of the story line, and my child looked forward in anticipation to see the resolution to the story.To spare anyone the trouble of not knowing what stories are included, I'm providing a list. I looked high and low for a fun children's Bible that included the stories that I wished for, but was always at a loss when attempting to purchase. I'm extremely picky with children's Bible-books, and while this one does not meet all my dream-list criteria, it comes close and is the only Bible-book for Toddlers that I found appropriate for my 1 year old. He enjoys the flaps and asks to read the creation and flood story in particular over and over again. The writing is particularly excellent--the descriptions are concise, but rich, and focus on themes appropriate for the age group (eg: the flood story is called "A New Beginning" rather than focusing on the extremely destructive and tragic side of the story--at the same time, it isn't too sugar coated or warped). Some of the story concepts in the new testament are not really understandable to my son yet; he can't understand that Jesus is helping a cripple person walk, for example. But I think 2 year olds and up would understand it well. I accidentally ordered two of these, but I kept the second to give as a gift, and for such a wonderful price, you might be able to do the same.

This book is perfect for the kid who is in between “the Rhyming bible” (18 months to 2 years) and the Jesus Storybook Bible (3.5/4 years old). My 3.5 year old has a hard time sitting for the Jesus Storybook bible but I like this one because we can either read the very short stories, of she can just life the flaps while I short-hand tell her the stories. Really, both of my kids are at the age where *sometimes* they let me read the stories, but mostly they want to lift the flaps (3.5 and 16 months). I don't mind because they really like the book and how *many* flap are there for them to flip. Someday we will read more the text. I have read it myself and Sally Lloyd Jones (again) does a fantastic job of making bible stories interesting and understandable for children and adults alike.

Love the workmanship of this book. The flaps are super thick and most of them have emerged unscathed (unbent) even though my 13-month-old plays with this book all the time. I like all the stories, the plethora of animals (LO loves animals) and that it goes all the way through the Bible stories. All the stories and their foci are biblical. Just a couple tips if you want to make sure this Bible is accurate: theologically, I would like to have some mention of sin and people doing wrong things, and why Jesus came. However, it doesn't do what some other kids' bible books do, and make every story "about" the toddler, which is not the original intent. I really like that.

First, it came with the back cover sliced almost through more than halfway, near the binding. Super disappointing.Second, the pictures underneath the flaps are contrasting or different enough to be interesting. It looks only slightly different, so not exciting enough for my son (who LOVES all his over lift the flap books and reads them constantly) to pay attention to.For these two reasons, I tried to return it -- but would have had to pay shipping which was more than half the price of the book. Yeah, not worth it. So we kept it.My son uses this book as something to drive his cars on when they don't work on the carpeting. And he has managed to almost completely rip/tear the back cover off because of the sliced damage it arrived with. Sigh. A couple more weeks and it will have to be thrown away. The flaps won't hold up either. He can tear them off (which hasn't happened with any of the other ones he has so... just this one.)

I got the board book, it has the same number of pages as the hardcover version and contains the same stories that other reviewers have listed for the hardcover. The stories are all very short and simplified, which is perfect for the age group I'm gifting this to.The artworks is beautiful. The flaps usually show before and after scenes, like David confronting Goliath and then under the flap Goliath defeated or a bird with a nest of eggs and under the flap they have hatched. It's really a lovely book and a great way to get small children acquainted with the Bible.

This is a fascinating read. Emphasis is on communicating (via score) with classically trained string players. The framing device is "what will a string player do without instruction, and how do you indicate the sound you wanted instead?"There are also good descriptions of articulations and playing styles, with no shortage of audio examples. This book is a great help with the sampled string library I've begun using, glad to have it.

Nicely written and with lots of general interest to keep you reading. This is not easy for a focus topic like arranging for a particular family of instruments. There are plenty of musical examples and the online audio examples give you a good idea of the technique being studied. The reason for 4 stars is just a personal thing with me, who was found wanting more detail. Part of the reason is that the book covers all types of playing strings and not just contemporary/classical like I am interested in. OK, maybe a 4 1/2!

Content-wise, this book seems good. But the Kindle version is not in standard Kindle format. Instead it appears to be a scanned version of the text with all the sizing limitations typically encountered in viewing a PDF book on Kindle.The text was so tiny on my Kindle Fire that it was nearly impossible for me to read. I could enlarge it to readable size, but then the right margin would be way off screen, so I'd have to drag the page over to the left to read the rightmost part of a sentence and then drag the page back in the other direction to read the beginning of the next line. I felt "seasick" in short order trying to read it.That said, this book appears to be informative and there are online audio demos accessible via a code at the beginning of the book. While I gave up reading a short way in and returned the Kindle version for refund, I have placed an order for a replacement paperback version today.

Excellent book to refresh yourself on the basic math concepts that you knew before, but lost over time. The progressive nature of the book is extremely useful in terms of building upon knowledge that you've just learned and applying it to the next concept in the book. This book is excellent for individuals wanting prep for military entrance exams and is the primary reason I bought this book. If you'll be taking the AFOQT or ASTB-E, then this book is an excellent supplement to your study gouge. The practice tests at the end of each lesson really reinforces the material you just learned and the end of chapter practice tests are great to lock in all the knowledge you just went through and solidity that knowledge to long term memory.

I must say this book is much more thorough than the Kaplan math review. My one complaint is that the thickness and layout of the book is a bit overwhelming at times and makes it that much more difficult to tackle the coursework. The Kaplan book is more user-friendly and makes it much easier to get through the work. If you don't have a lot of time do the Kaplan book because it's easier to get through the information faster because the layout is more compact. BUT this book is a bit more thorough so if you can ignore the thickness of the book because of super wide margins and such (great for good scratch work but makes it seem more overwhelming than it really is).

It is a good math review book but not sufficient in itself for getting ready for the GMAT or GRE. The problem explanations are very good. I recommend it if you are weak in math and need to brush up. Barron's prep courses for the GMAT/GRE are better but if you are weak in math, this book is a better place to start before moving on to other prep courses such as Barron's.

Used this book to study for the ASTB-E. Probably the best math book I've ever owned. The word problem section was the major reason for my success. Definitely recommend.

The book is in bad shape. Lots of writing has been done on the book that I highly disapprove of. I got a bad deal. The seller should have used it more sensibly if he/she wanted to re-sell it. The book might have been written very well but I should have got a better value for my money.

Great prep book for a very difficult test.

I am working on studying and taking my GMAT exam and I always struggled with math. I found a lot of this was due to the fact that incompetent individuals taught and ONLY showed you the text book examples which only managed to show the EASIEST question. For example what do you do with polynomials with inverse exponents if you (like me) don't generally toil with text book math in my spare time. Hmm...first section is good...hmm...now what? This has ALWAYS bugged me and frustrated me as math is a system and a language. Master the system and learn the pattern and it's all pretty routine.I learned with this book though that it is the material and how it is presented. The author is very helpful and everything is broken down so you can observe multiple problems and then practice them. At the end of each section you can practice what you learned to ensure that you have the hang of it. The lessons make sense, steps are generally not skipped. While I can't say that the information therein will allow me to break the 700 mark (hey i'm too practical...can't justify the 45k for the top tier schools requiring these scores...it's JUST school...) I have little doubt that it will provide a sound basis so that there will be NO surprises on exam day.I've looked at a lot of different prep resources and most of them I find are lacking. X=34 and there is like no explanation nor any tips with how you got that. With the 4th purchase of GMAT study guide books...still go back to this one.I'm working with the GMAT prep software, this text, and McGraw Hill's GMAT study book (stay away from the GMAT Baron's study guide!!!!)...and between the three resources...should be good to go.In conclusion, after spending a few hours researching texts out there and about 20 hours working through it question by question, I have no reservations in recommending this book to those that have any questions/concerns or desire to ensure your math is bulletproof on the GMAT. It teaches you from the basics (most math is based on simple algebra and arithmetic and if you have picked up bad habits over the years.....likely have your work cut out for you)...to the established person. My two cents...may pawn it off to relatives to help with their math in college/university/HS when I am done as it makes more sense than most HS texts.

This story of Sam is like many other boys and girls out there that are born and live with this disorder. It is not easy to be a friend, a sister, a brother, or any other relation to a child with Asperger's. These children are misunderstood all throughout school and college and they continue to struggle through adulthood with a disorder they have very little control over. They fear interactions with others, large crowds create anxiety and they struggle just to say "hello" to someone new. This was a delightful story of patience, kindness, and courage in the face of adversity but an achievement in illustration. I loved it not only for it's harrowing tale but the magnificent paintings that I love so well.

I had to get a book for my Inclusion class in college and this book is wonderful! Such a good book for young children to hear!

It is really unfortunate when people write negative reviews about excellent books. This book has won many awards, was shortlisted for book of the year by Speech Pathology Australia and has been endorsed by both Dr Temple Grandin and Dr Tony Attwood. I am a therapist who works with kids with ASD and this story is very realistic and applies to many of the children on my caseload. Unfortunately children with ASD or Aspergers do wander off, recently a child with ASD in a neighborhood close to us wandered off and was killed on the road as he was standing in the middle of the road with reduced awareness of danger. All kids with special needs are individuals and this book may not apply to everyone. What I love about the book is that is points out that even though Sam is different, he has amazing talents and strengths. Most importantly this book is a wonderful advocate for kids with Aspergers or ASD and raises awareness and understanding.

I thought that this book was really good. My son is just about 10 and he also enjoyed the book. I wish I had found it much earlier... would've helped him understand his diagnosis much better. I recommend this book if you have a young child with Asperger's. I think it would also come in handy for teachers that may have students in the classroom who have Asperger's.

Great book to read to kids to help them understand differences.

Bought this book for my 6 year old son to help him understand he's not the only child in the world with Asperger's Syndrome. My son did not enjoy the story. He did not like the part of the story where Sam wonders off in the middle of the night--that scared him tremendously. Also, the things Sam does and feels in the story do not resemble my son at all. My child did not want to read this book again.Personally, I thought the book was just okay. I enjoyed the illustrations, but was disappointed that the story was nothing like my Aspie kid. With that being said, I do understand not every Aspie child is the same. If you are a parent with an Aspie child that wonders off in the middle of the night or is musically gifted then I think this book would be right for you.
