Wonderful book that reminds me of home. The recipes are good, solid good and a few stars. The narrative is what makes Al Brown great and the book a must have.

New Zealand is top of my list of places I’d love to go, so I was so excited to get this book!! First off, it’s gorgeous!! The photography is beautiful and just makes me want to go even more! I’ve found the recipes themselves to be easy and delicious.Shortly after I got this book, I had a craving for chocolate and my 16-year-old daughter was wanting to bake something. Perfect! I asked her to make the Choco Block Biscuits. Oh, my!! They are amazing!! I took some to work the next day and my co-worker fell in love with them as well. Rich and delectable, they are also very easy to make.Pavlova is a quintessential New Zealand dish (not to jump into the Australian/New Zealand pav fight!) and not as hard to make as you might think. I definitely recommend you giving this one a try!From Cheese Scones to classic Roast Lamb, Lamingtons and amazing seafood, this book captures New Zealand food in a delightful way. I can’t make everything in this book–I don’t exactly have access to Paua, whitebait, hapuka or other New Zealand ingredients–but there is so much to love and enjoy in this book. I can remember back to yesteryear, prior to Wordpress, when I had to code my entire website by hand. Now a days, blogging platforms like Word Press and Blogger do the majority of the coding for you. You still need to know the basics of coding in case you accidentally make a mistake on your site or if you want to customize your website or blog. This books is a good tool for "those" people to have in their library.I've always loved the "Dummies" books. They are simple to understand and easy to navigate. And in true Dummies fashion, they have online resources listed in the back of the book. And, for those who want Dummies on the Go, there's an app for that.

I purchased this for my 11yr old daughter who is into computer technology and always wants to know more about computers. She kinda grumbled when she received it, but I am already seeing results that she is reading and understanding it. I believe this is a great book if you want to know the ins and outs of computer programming.

I have been readingg this book, but as with anything, you have to practice, practice, practice - and that demanads time I do not have to devote to it. It is easy reading though and I have been enjoying that.

Excellent resource for computer class. Impact of iPhone Uber and Airbnb. Html5,javascript and Python. Authentic info from a good software developer.

Easy to understand. Just learning coding. Would highly recommend.

I'm sure there may be some cave dweller somewhere who is not familiar with the concept behind the "For Dummies" series but the rest of us generally recognize them as outstanding, authoritative resources for hundreds of topics. I have read and reviewed many of these books and, without exception, have found everyone of them to be exactly what they claim to be."Coding For Dummies" is one of the best ones I've read yet. If you are interested in learning how to code for the web, but don't have much experience or knowledge, get this book first! It is an outstanding overview of all the latest information on creating content for the web experience.The book is clearly designed for those who know all the words but don't necessarily understand them. If you have worked in HTML in the past but need a refresher course on the latest coding languages, it is here. This modestly sized volume (only about 260 pages) covers everything you need to know to get up to speed with HTML 5, CSS, Javascript, Python and Ruby. These days, clients and employers (and users, whether they know it or not) are interested in responsive design and app creation, both are here with sections on Bootstrap and app creation. These days you want to make sure you are designing for the phone or tablet, that is all here.The book is lavishly illustrated (in color!) and demos are clear and easy to follow. There is also an outstanding section of resources and great advice on how to move forward in coding. I have done some computer coding and have used many resources to get better at it, but this was the best book I have used yet for giving me a big picture sense of the whole business.This is not a "college course in a book." No section is in depth enough to make you an expert on the subject, although for beginners the HTML and the CSS sections are very thorough, but there is enough here to get you pointed in the right direction.

I have contended in former reviews that short stores are one of the most difficult classifications of fiction to write. The author has to set up the plot, develop characters and some actions, come to a real or vague conclusion and then get out – end the story. Leung has written a middle ground of sorts. She has linked short collections of first-person narratives to raise the mask of the late 1970’s suburbia. Picture a middle-class neighborhood that reveals isolation and an underlying sadness leading to suicides.In the first story, we are introduced to June Lee, a Chinese girl, who is well-liked and ponders situations often to her detriment. She is a good girl, by many standards, and is alarmed by the number of suicides in her Toronto community. The suicides were not isolated to the Chinese; whites and others perpetuated this anguish. Yet, there are many divides among the characters. There is Darren, who is taught by his mother to keep his head down and work hard. Despite this careful upbringing, he becomes the victim of vicious racism, from a teacher, no less. Although these stories take place in the late 1970’s, I wonder if much has changed.There are children of those who committed suicide, also. There is a woman who seems perfect and yet hangs herself. There are some subtleties but there is a strong theme of mental illness and severe isolation and loneliness. These stories are connected by the setting; these young people and adults are living in Toronto, in a diverse Canadian suburb where many are looking for a better life or one that will alleviate some of the divides among the white, wealthier neighbors to those that are struggling.Leung’s collection demonstrates an ability to uniting these individual stories until, at the end, we can almost feel the heartbreak when the children are subject to assaults and shame. Okay so I can't even begin to describe how much I love this book. I am someone who typically does not read thriller type books but "Killing November" has changed my mind. I was able to participate in the ARC of this beautiful novel and now find myself so sad I must wait for the next installment. The character development, the plot, the twists, and the romance make this a must read. I found myself thinking about the story and where it goes from here. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone!!

Such an amazing book. I love everything from Adriana Mather and did not think i could love a book more than her HTHAW, but this book has it beat. Adriana went to great books to absolutely outdoing herself with a fantastic book. I cant wait to read more and really hope there will be another book.

Loved Adriana Mather's new book Killing November! if you've read any of Mather's previous books you know to expect a great mystery and fun, dynamic characters. In this story the main character November gets kidnapped and sent to an ancient school basically ran by a secret society. With November's world gone "Kansas bye-bye" she has to figure out not only how to fit in with the new crowd of dangerous kids, but also how to not get murdered by one of them - what can one say - that's the life of a teenager nowadays!

5 hours and 17 minutes.... what a short time to be in the world of Academy Absconditi, I was lucky enough to be part of the ARC for this book and what a great adventure ! I was drawn in within the first chapter, November is a great character and I am so in love with Ash, no matter what ! As with her other books, Adriana Mather was able to create characters so relatable and believable they were like old friends. I find myself wondering who I would be in the Academy and what alliances I would form, I can’t wait for book 2 so I can catch up with November and friends.

WOW! This book was something else. Adriana Mather really blew me away once again. I absolutely loved "How to Hang A Witch" and "Haunting The Deep", they were two books in a series about Samantha Mather and I 100% recommend reading those if you haven't already!! But "Killing November" gave me a totally new feeling while reading it, it was suspenseful and captivating while still keeping the elements of teenage life, family, and extraordinary storytelling by Adriana. It's every boy and girl's dream, perfect for all readers young and old. Each page keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting more.I loved getting to know the character Ash, he's such an interesting character and I absolutely fell in love with him right away!The main character November goes to an international academy that's far from the norm, and she has to find out how she fits into it all and why she's there. If you like drama, mystery and murder, this is the perfect book for you, and a little flirting and romance doesn't hurt either! November faces a constant struggle trying to figure out who's good and who's bad, and it's becoming life or death.Adriana focuses on really letting her readers get to know the main character November in this book and in my opinion, I feel like we really do know her. I feel like I can relate to her as a reader, and that's what makes a book great. This is a book that you just want to read over and over again, and never put down! I definitely recommend this book to anyone.

First, I would like to express how honored I am to have been a part of Adriana Mather’s ARC tour for her book Killing November.This book was extremely hard to put down. November finds herself in what can only be described as a leadership war she had no idea existed or that she knew she was a part of. She thought her father was sending her away for her own protection but found herself right in the middle of it all. She is brought to the International Academy Absconditi and is in even more danger that she ever thought she would be. This book is filled with danger and adventure, espionage and strategy, alliances and opposition, and most of all kinship. I already can’t wait for the second book.

The moment I started reading this book I didn't want to put it down! Adriana Mather is by far one of my favorite authors, and produces consistently great books. Killing November is full of action and there's never a dull moment. Its well written and you can tell she worked really hard to get all the details correct! I can't wait to read it again!

I loved this book!!!!!!!! I could not put it down. Had it not been for work I would have finished it in like a day. Lol but I love her other two books how to hang a witch and haunting the deep. So I already knew I would love it. The book just sucks you in and you won’t want to put it down. I highly recommend this book and her other two as well.
