To date I've read everything Robert Greene has in print and, much to my surprise, this turned out to be the most useful volume of all. Greene's other books were immensely helpful for clearing my head of cobwebs since, along with everyone else, I'm forced to negotiate our brave new world of cutthroat tactics and social Darwinists, while trying to keep a roof over my head. Without going into detail, let me simply say The 33 Strategies of War taught me exactly what I needed to know in order to adequately discourage the bullying I have had to endure at work for the past three years. Until I can find another job -- not all wars are winnable -- I can now keep this workplace vampire's demeaning behaviors in check. I recommend all of Greene's books, but this one may well be the best investment of the lot.

Great examples and stories, but as always Greene has a rather Machiavellian view of life which becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy--if we view life as war it more often will be. But on the other side, we need to realize that some people will screw us over, and a dose of that truth is needed for survival as well. My biggest revelation of the book was that war is less about war than the psychology and drama going on behind the scenes, whether it be tides literally affecting the course of a war or personal affairs changing the course of history.

There are no wars in most parts of the world. Condemning war as barbaric deeds is politically correct and very HYPOCRITICAL. The non-physical war in peaceful places is even more aggressive and nasty in fact. This book is truly enlightening in explaining the truth of it. But most importantly. This book is amazingly PRACTICAL and ACTIONABLE. I can't praise more about this book. 48 laws of power open your eyes for truth of human dynamics, this book comes far from understanding the humanity into the manual of getting what you want by humanity. Thank you, Robert Greene. I still think not only Robert Greene but this book are underestimated in the world. Although Greene is famous in the States, but it's truly not enough.

This is probably the best book I've read - the writing is very engaging and they are explained in such an interesting and insightful way. Clearly a lot of research has gone into this, particularly the historic stories about war/combat and politics. The examples from history are an excellent way to illustrate specific points. I regularly keep this book for reference, and I'm sure I'll continue referring to it in the future. It uses the topic of war to explain and describe different strategic tools and methods. I've read 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene, so this is my 2nd book I've read by him - and it exceeded expectations.

I enjoyed this book. Its not without faults, and the author gets a little whimsy/meta when describing some of the concepts it entails. However this book gave me an interest in history i never knew i had. Overall i am exceedingly happy i read this.

Robert Greene continues to blow me away! After reading “The 48 Laws of Power” I was hooked. The writing style and format (for me) is my favorite “extra bonus” in his books. Great content, examples, and a knack for explaining fairly complicated ideas in a way that “clicks.”Read it!

This is the best of his books. I have given over 20 copies of this book to young officers, enlisted men, young business people...even both of my children. Well written and the most impressive thing is how he uses the same things we have always read from these scions of leadership but he translates this into understandable...and better yet...actionable ideas. If you want to be a leader...of any kind...at any age...buy this book.

I've used Franko's maps for diving in Bonaire, Maui, US Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands, Cozumel and the Cayman Islands. They're the best, and while you can often get them when you get to your destination, it's fun to look beforehand and think about where you want to go. And if you're just riding on the dive boat and going wherever it takes you, it's also fun to know where you're going.For Bonaire especially, where you'll be doing lots of shore diving and finding sites on your own, this map is incredibly useful! Every dive site is shown with a sentence or two of info. (Every shore dive site on Bonaire has a yellow painted rock by the road with the name of the site on it, so you'll know when you're there.) It's pretty good for finding your way around the island for other activities too. It has the usual Franko's generous supply of fish ID pics and many other useful tidbits printed in every available space in the sea and in the margins.PS: If you're a diver and like shore diving at all, you'll LOVE Bonaire!ADDENDUM JAN 2013: Per Franko's, there is a brand new version of this map out. The version here, as of 18 Jan 2013, is still the older, July 2008 version. I doubt that much has changed, but I'm going to get the newer version before my trip in May '13, in fact, several copies as I'm going with a group of friends. If Amazon doesn't get the new version I'll order direct (Google is your friend!). Safe diving, DaveADDENDUM MAR 2013: As of 2 Mar 2013 Amazon STILL does not have the new version. I've tried various ways of asking them to get it, or advising that they have the old addition, to no avail. The new edition is available directly from Franko's (frankos maps dot com, only with no spaces and you know what to do with the word "dot") albeit at higher shipping cost if you have Prime. If anyone from Amazon reads this, when can we expect to see the new edition?ADDENDUM JAN 2016: As of now Amazon * * * STILL * * * shows that they're selling the 2008 edition. This may or may not be the case. If it is, shame on them, as there's been a new edition for a couple of years. If it is not, shame on them for not updating the description on this page. Franko's maps are available directly from them - as I said above, Google is your friend.

When we traveled to other islands, we always got the Map Chick "Can Do" maps. They were great. Easily read with lots of good information. I was hoping Franko's would be comparable, but they aren't. The text is very small and poorly set, making it hard read. The actually maps are also small, again making it difficult to make out anything but the largest details.We have been to the island many times and been royally lost, both in Kralendijk and the more rural parts. This map won't be much help. It is simply too much stuff in too small a space. If the paper were made bigger and/or some information deleted, it would be much more valuable.

This pamphlet is for people going to Bonaire with a special interest in diving, driving around the island or traveling by bike.It lists many Dive sites and Scuba Sites,Snorkel Sites and Beaches. It has great photos in color of the local fish. It also has 4 detailed maps.The pamphlet also has a "Photo Tour of Bonaire" with 20 photos.

Good map to help get some perspective of the island. Not the best for navigation but it works well enough. We used this map in addition to the book that is sold on the Island. We were glad to have both.

Great map gives blurbs of each dive site. Use this in conguntion with Shore Diving Guide to Bonaire which is not sold on Amazon but at dive shops all over the island. Map is very useful.

Every diver needs one of these. Waterproof and chucked full if information. Water temps, dive sites and a little info about each site.

We've used these maps on Kaua'i and St. John. They have been extremely helpful. We're now using them to help decide where we want to go next.

This is a good map of Bonaire, very detailed. We used it every day on our most recent vacation there. Very durable and waterproof.

This is a good basic book for beginners in martial arts. If you have advanced training then you already know what's in the book.

This book is a very good one for understanding the most effective ways to move the body in a fight. The author starts off going into leverage in what he titles "A Primer", and then goes into the physics and biomechanics of throwing powerful strikes, including putting the maximum amount of weight into a punch. The second chapter is "Guiding Principles for Kickboxing", and goes into powerful, nontelegraphic blows while keeping a good defensive possition. The third chapter goes a little into jointlocks, and specifically the "wakigatame" style arm bar. The next chapter, on "combat wrestling", goes into a few basic, but effective, takedowns, used primarilly as examples to illustrate the authors principles. I think the chapter on unarmed vs. knives is worth looking at, but wouldn't be my #1 source of information on the subject. The last real chapter is unique in that it's about sentry removal in a non-lethal manner for the military. The book ends with a scientific breakdown of Holyfield/Tyson. It's a very good book, especially for the power-hitting and leverage chapters.

Loved his other books - but this book was kind of primitive and outdated, and anything in between with no good examples in of pitches in all major genres.

I used all the methods outlined in this book to design my pitch, practice my pitch and deliver my pitch. The pitch went really well. Not only did I use the elements of story pitch with my script, but I used it with my business to pitch my products/services to clients.It's a short little guide. I read it in one sitting. I didn't have to read it from beginnging to end. I jumped around. I eventually read the whole book, but it's a nice guide that you can pick up and choose what will work for you.You can read the table of contents to know what's in it, but here are the areas that worked best for me. The 10 questions you should answer before starting your pitch was helpful because it helped sum up the whole story and get to the points that would grab at the soul of the listener. Those questions really help connect your story. Hauge also has templates for different genres that you can use as a guide. These were really helpful. I didn't use them word for word, but it was nice to be guided from beginning to end of the pitch. I was much more confident in my pitch and knowing what I was going to say really allowed the nerves to settle and the passion to come through. I have to recommend this book 100% for any type of pitching.The kindle edition has some funky things going on with the print. Some letters are cut off and words are pushed together. This didn't make it difficult to read and it does not happen enough, but be aware of that issue.

I had no idea, or experience of what a pitch should have consisted of until I read this book. If you have a pitch fest you're going to attend or pitch meeting you're going to, do yourself a favor and get this book A.S.A.P!!I can guarantee that after you read this book, you will become enlightened and empowered with new tools to help sell your screenplay. In reality if you are trying to make it, then you have nothing to lose by buying this book.Ask yourself, "Isn't it worth the risk? What do i have to lose?" trust me, get the book. I am an aspiring screenwriter and this book is a must, and if you haven't already get his other book, "Writing Screenplays That Sell." that book is genius and I love it. I read it every time I write any new spec.

Outstanding book if you're interested in selling a screenplay!!! I read it cover to cover and recommend it highly. Half the battle of selling a script is getting someone to read it, and the advice in SELLING YOUR STORY can really help. I bought a couple other books on the same subject, but I recommend this one.

I just finished reading this book and wrote my 1st pitch. I'll be attending a writer's conference in the fall and wanted some information on how to present the book I've been writing for 2 years. Michael Hauge's writing style is simple and concise. While reading this, I felt like he was sitting next to me and coaching me. He writes the way someone speaks, full of examples and stories that make the topic even more interesting. His writing flows like conversation. Let's face it, we all want to be published and in this world it's harder than ever. Take every opportunity you can find to make sure you make it into print or on the screen. This book is a good 1st step.I checked Michael's website and he offers a lot of services for scriptwriters and other types of writing. If you're writing a book, he can help with that too. I'd like to hire him as a writing coach but the $1,500 price tag is out of my league. If you can afford it, I'd recommend your contacting him. I used the template he wrote in the book to design my pitch. I have a critique group which helps me to hone my wriitng even more.Buy this book. You'll be amazed at how much you'll learn, not just about writing but about the publishing industry as well. Well written, in a conversational tone. Lots of... "Of course!" and "That makes perfect sense!" moments. I believe good pitching come natural to some who are gifted, but it isn't quite as easy for most. This book can help those people (like me) to bring their pitch up a few notches. It also takes some of the scary and uncertainty regarding your approach, out of the equation. I highly recommend this book.

The authors are three highly qualified women's health professionals who are passionate about helping women improve their prenatal and postnatal fitness. After years of training individuals and running successful independent businesses, they started Bellies Inc., a global company dedicated to helping educate and empower women in their pregnancies, births, and recoveries. They bring to this book both their shared interest of helping women understand prenatal and postnatal fitness and their unique professional experience. Julia Di Paolo, Reg. PT, received her physiotherapy degree from the University of Ottawa in 1997. Her practice is focused on the preconception, prenatal, intrapartum (labor and delivery), and postpartum stages and on all types of pelvic floor dysfunction at any stage of a woman’s life. Over the years, Di Paolo has established herself as the go-to physiotherapist in Toronto for pelvic health and recovery from diastasis rectus abdominis (DRA). Di Paolo teaches courses on diastasis rectus abdominis for personal trainers, allied health professionals, and pelvic health physiotherapists. She has presented on DRA and the pelvic floor at the conferences of the Association of Ontario Midwives, the Ontario Physiotherapy Association, canfitpro, and the Certified Personal Trainer Network (CPTN, formerly Canadian Personal Trainers Network). Samantha Montpetit-Huynh received her fitness leadership certificate from Seneca College in 2002. She has been a personal trainer for over 15 years, focusing on pregnancy and postpartum fitness. She is also certified as a fitness for fertility specialist. Samantha is known extensively in her field and has appeared on Breakfast Television, CTV News, Canada AM, CHCH, and Rogers Daytime. This book provides great information on safe exercises during pregnancy AND the post-partum period which has now been deemed as the fourth trimester. I love that the book provides accurate information on the pelvic floor, core, and overall body changes that occur with pregnancy as well. As a pelvic PT I will certainly recommend this book to patients.

I bought this in Canada but am leaving a review here as well, as Amazon.com is my go to before I purchase anything. I am very impressed. This is the first time I did core exercises and strengthening throughout my pregnancy, and after birth my stomach is much more toned than it was with any prebious birth.They also have a core breathing regime which I am doing now post partum as well.They even discuss how to lift an infant car seat properly!

I tutor math and this is one of two books I have found useful for students. The other is the Steck-Vaughn GED Mathematics book. Both are equally good. They have chapters explaining the topics as well as practice problems and practice tests.My reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that I believe a better book for GED math can be made, but I have yet to find it.

I tutor GED math 4 mornings a week. I wanted to get my own copy of the book. I do not like the fact that they teach Geometry before Algebra in this book as a practice this does not shadow what is done in High Schools.
